Supporting Smooth Transitions for Every Child
At Co-op Academy Broadhurst, we know starting nursery is a big step for both children and families. That’s why we’ve created a transition process that makes sure every child feels confident, comfortable, and ready to learn from day one.
Here’s how we do it:
- Stay Connected Early: Parents can access our ClassDojo page. It’s a great way to get familiar with our community and stay updated.
- Home Visits: Before your child’s first day, we visit your home. This helps us understand their unique needs and gives us a chance to answer any questions.
- Partnerships with Previous Settings: We talk to your child’s previous nursery or childcare provider to gather helpful information that ensures continuity in their learning.
- Tailored Support: Whether it’s help with toilet training or identifying additional needs during home visits, we’re here to support every child’s journey.
- Stay & Play Sessions: In the first week, we invite parents to join our Stay and Play sessions—perfect for easing into the new environment together.
- Workshops for Parents: Throughout the year, parents can take part in regular workshops to stay involved in their child’s learning.
- Nursery Teacher’s YouTube Page: Our dedicated teacher shares videos of storytelling and other activities on a closed YouTube page, so you can support learning at home too.
We believe every child deserves the best start in their education. That’s why we’ve been graded Outstanding by Ofsted—and we’re proud to make a difference in our children’s lives every day.
