Halloween Disco

It was lovely to see all the children enjoying themselves at the Halloween Disco. The DJ was so impressed with their behaviour he said we were one of the best schools he had been to. He commented on their lovely manners and the way they joined in with all the games. It was so good we have booked him again for a Christmas Disco!

Reminders

Please remember to book and pay for Breakfast, After School Clubs and school meals by Sunday prior to them being required the following week.  Failure to pre-pay for School Meals may result in you having to provide a packed lunch for your child.

Assemblies and Parent Coffee and Chat

Parents are welcome to join us in assembly on a Friday morning. Our assemblies start at 9am so we will open the hall doors 5 minutes before.
Parents’ Coffee and Chat has now started up. It will take place straight after assembly on a Friday. It will not be every week so dates will be shared on our newsletters. The next Coffee and Chat will be on Friday 11th November.

Please come along and find out what is happening in school 🙂.

Rights Respecting Schools

Article of the Month: Article 38 – Governments must not allow children under the age of 15 to take part in war or join the armed forces. Governments must do everything they can to protect and care for children affected by war and armed conflicts.

ECO

Can you please keep collecting and sending in your old batteries, plastic toys and old mobile phones and chargers. Please make sure your children’s uniform has their name in, we have a lot of lost and left jumpers and cardigans.

Careers Related Learning

Yesterday, the Ministers for Technology and Careers attended the Connell College Careers Fair. It was a great opportunity to visit a further education setting and to talk to the many different institutions and companies. The children were a credit to the school and asked lots of interesting questions about job roles and the skills required. In the summer term, these children will help to plan our own Careers Fair.

Safeguarding and Family Support

Please remember that if you require support with food for you and your families, please speak to Mrs Stacey who can facilitate you with support and offer information regarding Local Food Banks, Community Larders and Community Fridges.
We have been kindly donated a considerable amount of food by one of our governors, which we have organised into emergency hampers. These hampers are available in crisis situations when access to  external agencies and services is unavailable. We hope that having these emergency hampers on site will  prevent any of our families from going hungry.

Bonfire Night

5th November is Bonfire Night so we have attached a link to the Child Accident Prevention Trust website which has great information and advice regarding how to keep ourselves safe on Bonfire Night.
Firework and bonfire safety tips from Firework Sam (capt.org.uk)

We hope you have a safe and enjoyable Bonfire Night!
