Forest School

All of our pupils in Reception have weekly Forest School sessions.

“Forest School is an inspirational process, that offers all learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees”- Forest School Association

We go out to Moston Fairway Nature Reserve. We have been work partnership with the Lancashire Wildlife Trust, and they now own the land that we use for our forest school.  The Lancashire Wildlife Trust are working closely with the school to deliver extra sessions of forest schools to the children at school.

“Forest School is a child-led, play-based ethos that offers children regular opportunities to succeed, improve self-esteem and develop as a person through hands-on learning in a natural setting.”- Lancashire Wildlife Trust.

Pupils build confidence and creativity through Forest School sessions and they learn new skills through practical activities. We do activities like tree climbing, den-building, foraging and identifying plants and animals.
